Northern Australia Primary Health (NAPHL)

For more than 20 years Northern Australia Primary Health Limited (NAPHL) has been dedicated to helping people in Northern Queensland improve their health and well-being.

Every year we help more than 7000 people through our Allied Health, Indigenous and Mental Health services and programs. Our huge range of services include physiotherapy, podiatry, dietetics, occupational therapy, exercise physiology and psychology services that cater to all age groups.

Our clinicians travel far and wide throughout the Northern Queensland region to provide healthcare to the furthest and most remote communities while we have offices in Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, Ingham, Charters Towers and Thursday Island.

NAPHL provide the following services to Charters Towers;

  • Dietitian

  • Podiatrist

  • Exercise Physiologist

Dietetics

Our Dietitians help people to better understand how food plays a part in their health. They can help people who are undergoing weight loss surgery, are suffering specific health issues, have food allergies and intolerances, or have issues with their weight and nutrition.

Podiatry

Our Podiatrists treat a range of issues related to the foot, ankle and lower legs along with skin and nail issues such as in-grown toe nails. Our Podiatrists may also be able to help older people reduce their risk of falling.

Exercise Physiology

Our university qualified Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are different from other fitness professionals as they have extensive knowledge, skills and experience in clinical exercise delivery and health related behavioural change counselling for people with chronic disease or injury.

Our AEPs can see clients individually or in a group. They assess, prescribe, supervise and monitor exercise and lifestyle programs designed to achieve specific health outcomes for people with a broad range of conditions. They work with clients to motivate and support them when they start an exercise program and ensure they have the necessary skills to exercise safely and independently when they are ready.
